Alex Haley once described family as “the link to our past, the bridge to our future.” Personally, I prefer to think of it as a chain of links, a city of bridges. During the past few months, I've collected a book's worth of information about my family's past. Whether it's the tale of my great grandmother's endurance in the face of the Holocaust, or life of my grandmother in Romania -- each of these stories is a link in a massive, never ending chain. Hopefully, someday, someone will be able to use them to cross a bridge or two.
